Description

Located south-west of the Pomerol designation, near Saint-Émilion, Château La Ganne has been run by the same family for five generations, of which Michel Dubois took the reins in 1989.. The 7 ha of the vineyard are divided into the designation Pomerol (4 ha), Saint-Emilion Grand Cru and Bordeaux. Its grape variety well adapted to the outstanding terroir of Pomerol consists of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc.

The soil is composed of more or less sandy bank gravel, on a subsoil of iron grime, so particular to Pomerol, which gives the wines its incomparable velvety texture and its delicate aromas. Organic amendments allow the development of the vineyard in respect of the environment. Harvesting is manual with a vibrating and blowing sorting table.

Each year the wines show an intense color that evolves in garnet-colored reflections. The soil’s generosity, the harmony of the grape varieties, the fruit and man labor; Today, Paule and Michel ensure the long-term viability of this Pomerol vineyard, considered one of the smallest Gironde designations by its surface (750 ha) and therefore one of the most renowned for its quality.
