Description
Pierre de Marsan is a descendant of Viscounts of Marsan, founders of the city of Mont-de-Marsan in the Landes. He married in 1630 a rich heiress whose dowry was an important property in Lestiac. Wine production on this estate began in the 17th century. The Gonfrier family bought this property in 1962 and expanded the vineyard over the years.
The Château de Marsan is the property of reference of the company. The vinification is handeled very carefuly, thanks to the great expertise of their oenologist Edouard de Monturet, with prolonged macerations. The aging is done entirely in oak barrels, with a significant proportion of new wood. The entire vineyard is conducted in sustainable agriculture and certified “High Environmental Value”.
