Description
This 40-hectares one-piece castle, is located southwest of Montagne Saint-Emilion, on sandy-clay and clay-limestone soils. The average age of the vines is 50 years, and the estate is planted with 60% Cabernet Franc and 40% Merlot, which covers 32 hectares. The wines of Château Maison Blanche have been organic since 2009. They are characterized by their power in their youth, with a great capacity of aging.
The fertilizers are exclusively of organic origin, thanks to biodynamic preparations, to stimulate the life of the soil and the immunity of the vine (clay, herbal teas or decoctions of plants according to the climate). The harvest is manual and the yields vary from 30 to 45 hectoliters per hectare, depending on the wines and vintages. The winemaking is under the control of natural hot and cold temperatures.
The fermentations are natural and spontaneous, thanks to the action of the yeasts of the grapes, and then of the wine’s bacteria. The breeding is done without artifice, either in underground concrete tanks, tiled or not, either in terracotta jars or in French oak barrels. Bottled without sticking or filtration. These wines are to keep 7 to 10 years before drinking.
